IT Impacts on Communities and Society
The impact on the economy
Jobs can be more accessible now since technology as before
technology you had to know where is available, so you had to ask all around
town to find a job. Now in the scene of jobs IT skills are more in demand as
technology has kind of infested into all the industries in as technology has
made things easier for businesses and other industries so there is an abundance
of jobs that require to have basic IT skills now and the more, we advance the
more we would need people that have IT skills for jobs. Computers have made a
massive impact on the banking industry as a whole new form of payment was made
with online payments and cards as before you had to have cash or a check book
on you to pay for things and cards have evolved as well as you can cards on you
phone bye using a wallet app on your phone so it shows that technology is fast
pace and wont stop growing. There are some negatives as people standers with
hiring has increased by a lot so majority of people may not get a job in their
first 30 tries, and they would have to continue searching on the internet until
they find one.
The impact on mining
The impact technology had on mining is astonishing as we
used to mine by hand now we use massive vehicles that are run by machines and
men to terraform entire landscapes for material and valuable resources this
shows that technology has made the biggest impact on mankind for the better and
for the worst as we are advancing our planet is slowly dying for the materials
we dig up that we used to make our devices and buildings and homes.
The impact on shops and stores
The impact technology
has on stores and shops is big as most shops that are big have self-checkouts
and now most or nearly all use online payment like apple pay or google pay and
with the self-checkout it is a positive and a negative thing as customers can
just use it if they don’t have a lot o stuff and if they just don’t want to
interact that day with someone but it makes people not have jobs as technology
by the wide media is better than a human at this type of job which means that
some people would be jobless or let go for not being needed. Even the self-checkouts
are being replaced with an improved version and I think only Tesco has done
this and its were you have a portable scanner and you can scan your items on
your way and then you just have to scan a par code on the self-checkout and it
would automatically and you just have to pay but its only for people that have
a Clubcard of Tesco.
The impact on car manufacturing
Cars have always been
made by hand but now most are made by robots and it makes sure that there are
more cars out on the market place which is a positive but its also a negative
as it would mean lack in quality as most quality cars that are in the market is
man made so they would have a better design and be more durable since humans
can see if there is a mistake when they
are making the car but robots cant as they are programmed to just do the job
quickly so it would mean a lack of quality that’s why most luxury cars manufactures
are still making their cars man made and it would also mean less jobs for
people.
Impact on security in communities
Security in communities’
changes with technology as there are neighbourhoods with cameras everywhere that
are made to keep people feeling safe from like criminal activities that could
happen around that area. Its positive that people can track crimes that
happened around there but there are negatives as it doesn’t always help as the
crime still happens and the police won’t have enough time to get to the area of
the crime because it would have to take time for a person to look at the
cameras around the neighbourhood and then call the police so the criminal.
